Joshua E. Roller, MD, is proud to play a part in improving the lives of his patients through weight loss surgery. He is the most experienced bariatric surgeon in the state and region.



Dr. Roller moved to Northwest Arkansas in August 2007 after completing a minimally invasive surgical fellowship in bariatric and advanced laparoscopic general surgery at Duke University Medical Center, one of the premier bariatric surgery centers in the country.

In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Josh Roller has extensive experience in other advanced laparoscopic general surgical procedures including colon/rectal resection, adrenalectomy, splenectomy, gastrectomy, pancreatectomy, Nissen fundoplication, para esophageal hernia repair, inguinal and ventral/incisional hernia repair.
Dr. Roller believes that the minimally invasive approach to surgery is in his patients’ best interest, as it’s associated with less pain, shorter hospital stays, lower infection rates, and a quicker return to work.

Dr. Josh Roller is board certified in general surgery and is a member of The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, The Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, The Parkland Surgical Society, and The American College of Surgeons.
Education andbackground
Dr. Roller received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), representing the top 10 percent of his class. He completed his internship and general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, one of the busiest and most respected surgical training programs in the country.
As a chief resident, he was given the national honor of Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident of the Year. He then completed a one-year fellowship in bariatric surgery at Duke University Medical Center.
